Compare a known signal or an Ableton export against the same WebAssembly engine used by the live tuner. Files stay on this device.
1. Set up Ableton Live
- Download a reference manifest or select a reference WAV below. Import it onto an audio track.
- Turn Warp off, keep transpose and detune at zero, and remove pitch-changing effects. Add Ableton’s Tuner, with reference at 440 Hz.
- Loop the middle of the clip. Compare the Hz/cents reading with the expected value. Live may use a different octave-number convention; compare frequency.
- Export WAV at its original sample rate, with normalization off and no dither. Analyze it below. To test the phone microphone too, play the clip through a speaker and open the live tuner on the phone.
2. Analyze a signal
Select a reference or a WAV file.
Download per-frame measurementsWhat this establishes
The report measures pitch error relative to the frequency you enter. It excludes the first and last 250 ms, rejects unclear or clipped frames, and analyzes up to 30 seconds of channel 1 without resampling. Detection rate is shown so rejected frames cannot hide failures.
This is not a completed Ableton comparison until its readings are recorded. Synthetic digital precision does not establish microphone accuracy, audio-clock calibration, or performance on real strings.
